This Week's Happenings...

This week has been super, super busy and full of all kinds of fun things but my Friday is now bogged down with catching up on work and doing loads upon loads of laundry. But I had to sit for a second and blog because I have been ignoring it for far too long and I need to get back into some sort of blogging routine!

Anyways...

Our week started off by trying out a new church Sunday morning and we absolutely loved it! There are a few others here in town that we've enjoyed but this one had a different feeling... it just felt right. I'm really looking forward to going again this weekend. The rest of the day I helped my hubby with his Fantasy Football... and I'm kind of hooked and I've decided that I'm totally doing it next year! The football fun was a little much for Carson to handle. I looked over and he had his monkey tucked under him taking a nap, haha. That pup is always doing funny things! He entertains me every day!

Monday was an early morning. B and I got a little baby practice and babysat his cousin's son... he is seriously the cutest, happiest baby I have ever been around! We had a blast and got a little taste of what a day in the life of having a baby will be like... thanks for the practice Christian and Becca ;)

Tuesday night I went to cheer on my hubby and his softball team. He joined with his cousins and uncle and it's pretty fun to go watch. The wives have matching t-shirts and I think the guys are just having fun with all of it. We're 0-2 but hey... no biggie! I'm feeling a win next week!

Wednesday night we all went to dinner to Cheesecake Factory (yum!) and B and I came home to this little friend on our back porch window. We named him Fred. He hung out all night and caught pesky bugs but our buddy was gone in the morning. The wildlife that hangs in our neighborhood is crazy... no snake sightings yet so I'm totally fine with it!

B and I also found this awesome table for our entryway. Thank you HomeGoods! Our house is finally starting to come together and we are so, so happy!

But the highlight of my week was our doctor appointment yesterday morning. We got to see Baby H and he/she is healthy and growing right along. The doctor was pretty impressed with how long and skinny our baby is... if it's girl, I'm already envisioning leotards, tutu's, and dance shoes ;) I'm 14 weeks tomorrow and time is flying by and we're loving every second of this pregnancy! I'm pretty certain that next month we get to find out boy or girl... we honestly have no preference... we just want a healthy and happy baby!

Hope y'all had a fantastic week and have an even better weekend!
Happy Friday!

We're Here!

Well... we made it!

We are officially in Florida and in our home. We've been here 5 days and so far we are loving the Sunshine State. We still don't have our furniture... hopefully the movers will arrive soon. I miss our couch and to be able to cook a homemade meal but at least we have cable and internet! The pups are adjusting and are obsessed with the yard outside. It's so great that they can go out whenever they want... definitely a change from the high rise we were in while in Connecticut.

We've found a new gym, a few yummy restaurants, and we're slowly starting to learn our way around our new city.

So far, it's been awesome and memories are already starting to be made!

A few projects...

Hey ladies!

This week as been super busy... I feel like my "to do" list has just been growing more everyday. But that's okay. I'd rather be busy ;)

The first project that will be taking up my time the next couple of days is preparing mine and B's Halloween costume. I haven't been to a Halloween party in I don't know how long so it will be fun to get out with some friends and get all dressed up. I love my idea that I came up with for me and the hubs but it's top secret until our big reveal Saturday night. Pics to come though, for sure!

My other big project is at our apartment. I think I've blogged before that our space is much smaller than what we're used to. Don't get me wrong. We LOVE our apartment! Great location, great space, but... super small closets. We originally tried to organized our stuff back in August after we were all settled in but it is just not practical. Never fear... this gal will have it all taken care of ;) I've been researching all kinds of organizing ideas and of course browsing Pinterest for some inspiration.

We only have two closets and they are small! It's been hard fitting in clothes, shoes, coats, puppy stuff, scarves, extra towels, bike stuff, etc,...
I'm looking forward to taming everything and having some order.

Oh and before I leave y'all...

Here is a link to Sephora's Friends and Family sale. Just enter your email address and receive your special code for 20% off you entire purchase! I know of a few items that are on my list. But hurry... sale ends on November 2.

Have a great day!

Playing Catch Up...

Hey y'all!!
I have been M.I.A for quite for a few days. I just got back last Thursday from a week in my good, ole, Kentucky home :) Work took me there but I was able to spend lots of time with my family as well and it was GREAT!!

AS much as I loved being in KY and seeing friends and family, it was nice to get back to Connecticut and see my hubby :) Missed him lots while I was gone. I flew in late Thursday night and was looking forward to a fun weekend together.

Friday was a lazy day... I got absolutely nothing done other than some reading and catching up on my sleep. I was super busy while I was in KY and I think I can count on one hand how much sleep I got while I was home! Friday night was definitely a relaxed evening with B... it consisted of Chinese takeout and movies on the couch. Perfection!

We were planning on getting up early Saturday morning and heading into NYC but it was rainy and yucky so we decided to stay around New Haven instead. We woke up early and had a breakfast date and then did a little shopping. I found some new finds this weekend that I am really excited about:

Love these earring from Anthropologie. I love them! I also found a cute shirt in the "sale"section but I didn't take a a pic of it...eh...oh well!

I'm loving my new makeup remover from Benefit. I had been using some stuff from NARS but I thought it was a little too oily. Love this stuff and I love the packaging. I know... typical consumer but presentation is everything ;)

However... I do love my new foundation from NARS. Not too heavy and a little covers a lot.

Sunday was an AWESOME day!!
B and I went to our first clambake and it was yummy!! Clams, lobster, corn, potatoes, clam chowder, hamburgers, hot dogs,.... it was a great afternoon. The radiology department hosted the event and I'm so glad we went. It was supposed to be rainy that afternoon but the sun was out and it was the perfect way to spend a day by the beach.

I'm super happy to be back home with my hubby and feeling very grateful for our CT life!
Hope everyone had a great weekend and an even Monday :)

My Ol' Kentucky Home...

Ahhh... home sweet home!

This past month has been CRAZY!! After spending a week with my mom and sis, in CT, the hubs and I had a week together and then I was headed back to KY to go to my dance studio's nationals... lots of fun but this gal is TIRED!!

I flew in last Saturday and we just got back a lil' while ago. I'm so proud of all the DESOD kiddos... they were awesome and it was so great to be back around my second family :)

After 5 days of being holed up in the Myrtle Beach Convention Center, it was finally time to spend some time on the beach. Sun, sand, the smell of sunscreen, a good read... that's the life!

I'm happy to be back in KY but I'm really looking forward to seeing my hubby! We've only seen each other 6 days this month :(

So sad!! I miss him lots.

I'm headed back to CT in a couple days but in the mean time I'm going to enjoy some home cooked meals and time with my friends and family.

Here's the new book I'm reading:

I just started it yesterday and I'm about halfway through... so far, I LOVE it!!

Have a wonderful Sunday evening!!

I'm Back!

Ladies... I've returned to the real world!

The past 7 days I've been breathing, eating, and living dance. Sequins, buns, make up, and glow sticks... our recital was a HIT! I am very proud to be a part of such a talented dance studio. Our students are amazing, our teachers are wonderful and our year ended with our final performance last night.

This year was very bittersweet for me. I grew up at this dance studio, starting dance at the age of 3. 23 years later, after performing, competing, teaching, and choreographing at the same institution... it came to an end. I will not be there everyday like I have grown accustomed too over the past several years but at the same time I am so excited about this next chapter in my life. Since my lil' sis is still dancing her heart out, I know I'll be back. I'll come and do some solo's for my kiddos and I'll keep supporting my second family and cheering them on at any competition I can make it too!

I am really looking forward to exploring a new area of the country and beginning something new with my hubby. This is a new start... a fresh start! I love my DESOD fam with everything in me and I know I will stay close with the friends I've made along the way... thank goodness for Facebook and Skype! haha ;)

We had a great week but I am happy to have some "free" time so I can dedicate it to packing... we are way behind on my schedule!

Here are some of my favorite pics that I took during the show...

Those lil' ones are TOO CUTE!!

Well... I'm headed off to enjoy some down time with all my fellow teachers. Looking forward to a fun night!

Have a great day y'all!!

Fun Finds

This gal is Sicky McSickerson :(
I woke up with a sore throat, coughing, and no voice!

Glad it didn't hold me back from doing some shopping this past weekend haha ;)

I love wondering aimlessly through the aisles at Sephora and Ulta. I go in with the intention of buying one or two items and I leave adding 500 more things to my wish list. Not good, haha!

Here's some things that I found this weekend that I'm really liking...

A girl can never have too much nail polish ;) I bought two new colors this weekend. Pink-ing of You by OPI and Barefoot and Topless by Essie.

I love when you're at the beach and you've been in the sun and ocean all day. Your hair gets that thick, texturized feel and my waves go on for days. This has all that in a bottle. LOVE!! It's called Beach Blow by blow. It's amazing... my sis got some too ;)

This item is next on my "wish list". Too Faced lip gloss in "Peek A Boo".

And... I'm in love with this perfume. A girl can never go wrong with Chanel!

A few blogs ago I was stressing about closet space in our new apartment. Slowly but surely we are coming up with some solutions. Thankful!

B and I have decided to sell our dresser so that we can get this:

We're getting this new dresser so that it matches this:

Perfect to hang my dresses, skirts, and hang a shoe rack. My pj's and other lady items will go in the drawers below. All that's left in the real closet... my shirts and pants. This frees up A LOT of space for B to store all his clothes... yay!

While doing some browsing on IKEA we found a new couch for our place and a new coffee table. All reasonably priced. But.. we're only getting these if we sell our couch and coffee table that we have now. What we have now just won't work in our new space... BIG funiture, small space. We're happy with we've found and know that we can utilize it wherever we move next and once we buy a home.

I absolutely adore IKEA. They really have everything! I'm excited since there is one only a few blocks away from us, in CT.

I'm sure my "wish list" will continue to grow ;)

Happy Monday y'all!! This girl is going to take a nap and take some meds ;)

Dreaming...

About 5 weeks until our big move to CT... very excited!

This past weekend I spent some time on the internet researching creative ways to utilize small closet space. Our apartment is great... we love everything about it. Well, almost everything.

The location is perfect, the size is small but totally livable, the kitchen is brand spankin' new, the gym is state of the art... but our closet space leaves much to be desired. Small closet in the entry way and small closet in the bedroom.

I'm not too worried about the closet in our front hall. It will be fine for coats, dog supplies, umbrellas, etc,...

But... our bedroom?!?! That is going to be a task. Time for moi to get creative!

Needless to say, I got a lil' sidetracked while reading articles and scouring through a number of organizational websites.

Look what I found!

I could totally live with the following closets:

Ahhh... perfection!

Maybe in our next home ;)

Happy Monday y'all... and PS... any tips for small bedroom closets is greatly appreciated!
