What I'm Loving Wednesday

Happy Wednesday y'all! Time for another link up with Miss Jamie. Here's what I'm loving today:

I'm loving that the VS Fashion Show was last night. I always enjoy seeing what fun, creative concepts they come up with and last night did not disappoint!

I'm loving some of my Pinterest finds from this week. Are y'all as obsessed as I am with this site?!?! I spend WAY too much time pinning but there are so many fun ideas and great pics. I just can't resist ;) I found an interesting craft that I think hubby and I are going to try. I'll report back. Follow me on Pinterest here.

And, as always, I'm loving my sweet, sweet hubby. I have been so spoiled this week. His work/call schedule has been awesome. The only real, full day he has to work is Friday! I wish every week was like this, haha ;)

Have a great day ladies!!

Turkey Day Coma/Weekend Update

I did it! I successfully made my first, full Thanksgiving meal and it was yummy :) I didn't take as many pictures as I would have liked to (I was a busy girl!) but here are some:

Turkey browning up nicely

Cranberry sauce. My hubby said it was the best that he had ever tasted!

Cornbread stuffing... yum!

Corn pudding ready to bake in the oven... yes, that is almost a full stick of butter ;) It was completely necessary haha

Me taking a quick break from a long day of cooking

Our menu was full of lots of yummy food:
turkey
cornbread stuffing
cranberry sauce
corn pudding
green beans
cream peas
mashed potatoes
sweet potatoes
mac n' cheese
roasted carrots
gravy
rolls
pecan pie
apple pie

I had so much fun spending the day in the kitchen. I was a little stressed about all the cooking but we had a friend in town and he was a HUGE help! The three of us had a blast and then enjoyed a wonderful dinner. And now we have leftovers for days! B had to work most of the holiday break but we did manage to squeeze in time to go see "Breaking Dawn". Oh mah word... LOVE! It is by far my favorite movie of the series.

Saturday night we put up our Christmas tree. I am a firm believer in celebrating one holiday at a time so no tree or holiday music until after Thanksgiving! Christmas music was blasting and I am so happy to have our tree up. I love the holiday season :) I am also a very thankful wifey... B let me decorate our tree pink and green. He really is the best!

I hope y'all had a great Thanksgiving with your loved ones! There is so much to be thankful for this year!

Have a great day.

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Happy Wednesday y'all!! Time for another link up with Jamie. There's one big thing I'm loving this week...

I'm loving that tomorrow is Thanksgiving! There is so much to be thankful for this year. God, my hubby, friends and family, good health, a home, a job... you get the picture ;) I hope everyone gets to celebrate this special day with their loved ones. While this will be my first Thanksgiving away from home, I am super blessed to be spending it with my hubby and one of our dear friends. I'm cooking my first Thanksgiving meal! I'm sure it won't be the same as my mom's home cooking but I'm hoping it will be close. What's on the menu? Turkey, gravy, cornbread stuffing, cranberry sauce, rolls, cream peas, green beans, corn pudding, mac and cheese, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, roasted carrots, and pecan pie. I'm sure I'll have a post letting y'all know how this goes ;)

I'm loving the following verse... sums up tomorrow perfectly!

“Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!” ~ 2 Corinthians 9:15 ~

And as always, I'm loving my sweet, sweet hubby!

Have a great day ladies and a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Unlikely Places

I knew when I married B that I was in for some traveling around and a few years of having to be adaptable. I knew he had to finish his residency and I knew that he wanted to go outside of my home state for his fellowship. Well, here we are... a few months into the fellowship and another job search has begun. God led us to Connecticut for a reason and I am positive it was to surround B with the best training possible. B has had an amazing experience since his fellowship began. He has excelled in performing procedures, he has thrown himself into awesome research projects, and he was nominated to be chief fellow. If he had chosen to go into another program, these things may not have happened. Only God is responsible for the blessings we have had since we moved here. We have grown comfortable with our group of friends and we have finally "settled in". Will we stay here? Who knows... a potential offer is there. We're interested in keeping our options open. We love the south but there is a part of us that would love to travel out west. Resumes have been sent, calls have been made, and now interest in B has circulated. He had a phone call, from a group out west, and I was proud as I sat and listened to him talk with such ease and confidence. I love that he loves what he does. I am certain that the right group will recognize this and will want to scoop B up in a hot second. Jobs right now are hard to come by in this economy so we've had to expand our horizon a bit and look into places that maybe we wouldn't have looked into otherwise. Hence... some practices out west ;) But this is such an exciting time! Not really knowing where we're headed but trusting that God has a plan for us. After B got off the phone tonight there was such a "kid like" giddiness between us. The fun of having a potential offer in a place that we may not have considered otherwise. When I saw the quote above, I felt such a sense of joy. It's so true... "secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places". I so look forward to unwrapping the secret that God has in store for us... no matter where we may be!

Have a great night ladies!!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Happy Wednesday y'all!! Time for another link up with Jamie. Check out her blog... super cute.

Here's some things that I'm loving today:

I'm loving that the weekend is almost here. LOTS going on in the next week and all the festivities begin this weekend. Football game on Saturday, my partner in crime coming into town on Sunday, a birthday celebration on Tuesday, Thanksgiving, blonde appointment, and a trip (or two!) into NYC! I'm so excited and looking forward to this fun week :) I'm feeling very thankful for good friends and fun times ahead!

I'm loving that I just bought this book. Yes... we all have our own views/opinions of the Kardashians and while I do not agree with everything that they do or say, I do find them quite interesting and I get a kick out of their show. I'm really curious to hear everything from the "Queen Bee's" perspective.

And as always, I'm loving my sweet, sweet hubby :) Everyday I feel so blessed for his friendship and love!

Have a great ladies!!

Fun Finds

Happy Monday y'all!

It's a beautiful, sunny, fall day up here in Connecticut and I am loving that my hubby has the next 2 days off!

Wanted to share a few fun, beauty finds:

This is my new favorite primer. I received a sample of it with an order from Ulta and I fell in love. I immediately went and purchased this item. It is so light and really does give your skin a smooth, photo finish.

If you're a southern gal, you understand the importance of adding a little extra boost to your hair. No one in Connecticut seems to understand how vital this is, haha ;) This little brush gets the job done. And... it's only $5. Does it get any better?!?! I will definitely be looking into some of their other items.

This set of brushes works wonders and makes your skin look flawless. If I had cash rolling out the bank I would love to invest in an airbrush make up set but this gal works on a budget and these brushes give a similar effect. These typically run close to $150 but the set is $65 at Sephora and $50 on eBay.

What's more fun than a few Pinterest finds?!?! I love that site... maybe a little too much. I may need a Pintervention soon, haha ;)

Have a great day ladies!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Hey y'all!! Time for another link up with Jamie :)

Here's what I'm loving today:

I'm loving this gorgeous fall weather that we've been having. The past few days have been mid-60's and full of sunshine! I just love this time of year.

I'm loving my reading material for the week. A couple new mags and some good ol' chick lit... perfect! Where I'm not working as much as I have been the past couple of years, it has given me more time to do something I truly love. Read! I have gone through about 6 or 7 books in the past month and I'm looking forward to what's waiting for me on my bookshelf ;)

I'm loving that the CMA's are on tonight. Big hair, big performances, and big fashion! I can't wait to see what these country women will be wearing!

I'm loving my Pinterest finds from this week...

Love the bow

Perfect for New Year's Eve

Stunning! Take me there now, puh-lease!

Simple yet elegant centerpiece

One of my favorite verses

And, as always, I'm loving my sweet, sweet hubby :) Yes, that's him busting a move at our wedding... he is too funny!

Have a great Wednesday y'all!!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Well, it's Wednesday and y'all know what that means... another link up with Jamie :)

Here's what I'm loving today:

I'm loving that B and I are heading out on a road trip bright and early tomorrow morning. We're heading to my home state of KY! It's going to be a long drive but nothing that a few books, magazines, and an awesome playlist can't help ;) I'm really looking forward to spending some time with my family... B hasn't seen them since we moved in the summer! We're celebrating Thanksgiving a little early since we'll be in CT over the holiday. The timing of this is perfect... we get to hang out and catch up with friends and family and B gets to take what is hopefully his last medical exam for a while. I have the upmost faith that B will pass with flying colors... he has been working and studying so hard! I'm glad we get to relax a bit at home before his big day :)

I'm loving all the inspiring things that I stumble upon on Pinterest! I mean... what did we do with our time before Pinterest?!?! haha ;)

One of my favorite verses...

So true...

A great reminder... so much to be grateful for!
One of my all time favorite quotes...

The little things make up the big things in life...

And as always, I'm loving my sweet, sweet hubby :) Please send up an extra prayer or two for our safe travels and for him just to stay confident for his exam! He is so dedicated and I could not be prouder of him!

Happy Wednesday y'all!!
Have a great day :)
