What I'm Loving Wednesday

Happy Wednesday everybody!!

I've linked up with Jamie over at This Kind of Love... Her blog is just too cute!

Here's what I'm loving today:

I'm loving that I finally got a good night of sleep. The past several days have been full of heavy rain and lots of storms and I can't remember the last time that I slept for a full night. It was so nice to wake up and feel refreshed!

I'm loving my new scent from Bath and Body Works. They've got some great stuff ladies... go check em' out!

I'm loving these dresses from Anthropologie... I am obsessed with that store!

And as always... I'm loving my sweet, sweet hubby! He is so wonderful and I am so blessed to have him in my life :)

Many blessings to y'all!!

Have a great day...

Stress! Stress! Stress!

The past 24 hours have been SO SO SO busy!

I had a WONDERFUL birthday and want to give a quick shout out to all my sweet family and friends for making the day so fabulous... thank you thank you thank you :)

Today has been full of pure craziness...

Most of you all know, we are just a short time away from our big move for B's fellowship. We went and visited our new city way back in October and were so happy to have found a place to call home for a year. It seemed absolutely perfect... great space, great location, good price. We came back to KY feeling relieved and stress free when it came to our housing. Well... the past two months have been a lil' confusing when it came to our new home... originally we were told that our condo was available and then it wasn't, and then we had three other floor plans to choose from, then our original place was available, then it wasn't, then we had to make another floor plan decision in a day... you get the picture. Management was never rude. They just seemed so disorganized. During this entire ordeal, B and I just kept praying and praying and praying that everything would work out. We knew that we would have a place to live; somehow, someway! But... we have been so stressed over this. What we thought was taken care of in October has turned into a big ordeal.

Needless to say, we decided not to go with our original place. And thank goodness... after speaking with current, local residents and reading several recent reviews, we feel confident in this decision. However, as of yesterday we had no home! And 8 weeks until we moved!

God works in great ways and we are beyond thankful for what has opened up for us. Our favorite place, that we saw in October was a lil' above our budget but now... they have a special for when we are moving and it put the price right where we needed it! And... many fees are waived because of where B will be employed... bonus!

Now... it's just filling out some paperwork and getting our initial costs together. So thankful to have this figured out... I was literally having a bit of a breakdown over all of this. B just kept feeding me birthday cake to keep me quiet... haha ;)

I am beyond grateful for this opportunity for B... I am so proud of him and I know the Lord has placed us in CT for a reason and we are really looking forward to our time there but packing and moving is stressful. On top of both of us working and B studying for his boards, it has just been a stressful time.

Time is going by so quickly and there is SO much to do!

At least we will have a roof over our heads when we move... I couldn't say that yesterday!

So thankful for the following verses for keeping things in perspective:

It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.
~ Deuteronomy 31:8 ~

When the righteous cry for help, the Lord hears, and rescues them from all their troubles.
~ Psalm 34:17 ~

Trust in the Lord and do good; so you will live in the land, and enjoy security. Take delight in the Lord and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act. Be still before the Lord, and wait patiently for him.
~ Psalm 37:3-5,7a ~

My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.
~ Psalm 62:1-2 ~

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
~ Proverbs 3:5-6 ~

Weekend Update

What a fun, fun, fun weekend I had with my honey and my fam!

B and I had a whole "date day" on Friday... B had to go into work for a bit and I enjoyed sleeping for a morning ;) We grabbed Panera for lunch and spent the afternoon reading, shopping for our pups, enjoyed a sweet treat at Orange Leaf, and saw Water for Elephants... LOVED the movie but I think the book is even better!

We had horrible storms throughout the night and it was so hard to get a good night's sleep... we were up for most of the night.

Saturday was such a relaxing day... errands, more reading, and an evening with family cooking out and enjoying an early birthday celebration!

B and I enjoyed celebrating Easter together, on Sunday, and today we celebrated my BIRTHDAY!

I can't believe I'm 26... time flies when you're having fun!

I hope everyone had a wonderful, wonderful weekend...

Time to go eat some more yummy bday cake :)

Vent Session...

Ok...
I just need a moment here ladies.

I'm not usually one to come on here and just vent and be negative but... sometimes it happens and today is just one of those days.

I'm having a bit of an issue with my girl Vicki and that lil' store of hers...

Please understand... I love Victoria's Secret and all the fab things that store has to offer. I mean, half the time I go in for one thing and $100 later my bag is full of lotion, tee's, sweats, and who knows what else!

But... I feel like they're pushing the boundaries a bit with this new line that they're selling.

This past weekend I was out of town with my mom and sis, for a dance competition, and to kill some time one day we decided to do a lil' shopping. The mall wasn't anything to write home about but they did have a pretty big Victoria's Secret and it was time to re-stock on some sprays and lotion.

{Please keep in mind that my sis is only 14 years old...}

We're walking around and looking at all the cute "PINK" stuff... the cute tanks, the shorts, sweats, yoga pants, etc,...

Then we come across the following:

Exhibit A

Exhibit B

This was not even the worst of it. There were several suggestive shirts/tanks that read:

***Stay the Night

***I'm Naked Under This Shirt

***Let's Get it On

***I Get Around

And then they were proudly displaying undies that read:

***Just Visiting

***Come Visit Soon

***Take A Trip

***Hello There

So here is my point... What are they thinking? The "PINK" line is directed towards girls in middle school all the way to gals like myself... 20's, married...

Why would they promote this kind of behavior to girls and entice them with this type of clothing?!?!

I do not want my sis seeing that or being persuaded by such suggestive material.

I know I wasn't perfect in high school and college... I had boyfriends, went to parties, told the occasional lie to get out of trouble but for the most part I made smart decisions and led a fairly "normal" teenage/ college life. I kept myself involved in school, made good grades, danced almost everyday, and had a pretty good sense of time management. Why is Victoria's Secret trying to get these young girls to make silly decisions and condone poor judgement? Is it really okay for a girl to wear a shirt that says "Let's Get it On"? I mean... hello?!?! Clearly we all know what this is implying!

I'm usually such a fan of Vicki and her cuteness... great stuff for day, night, and all those fun weekend errands but they really missed the mark on this one. I'm disappointed in what they are promoting to young girls. Instead of just doing what they were doing, they are now glorifying sex and making it seem "cool".

As I said earlier... I am FAR FROM PERFECT! I made mistakes... dumb mistakes, stupid mistakes, mistakes I regret and I thank the good Lord above that He has saved me from my sins and has shown me a better path full of His grace and His light.

I certainly hope that I have not offended anyone!

Let's just hope that parents and their young ones do not buy into this marketing and all this goes away so that I can be proud to shop at Vicki's again ;)

I'm glad this vent session is over.... now on to tackle the rest of my day!!

Have a fab day ladies :)

Weekend Update

This past weekend went by way too fast...

Friday morning started off with my sweet hubby making a yummy breakfast! It was so nice outside so we did some yard work for a bit before deciding to get the grill going, for a late lunch/ early dinner. The pups got a haircut and then got a good 3 mile walk around the neighborhood.

By that night I was whooped and wanted nothing more than to cuddle up on the coach with a big ol' diet coke and maybe some of these.....

Have you gals had these?!?! Ummmm.... they're amazing!

I spent a couple of hours at the studio Saturday morning... the kids have a competition next weekend! I'm glad I left work when I did though. A huge thunderstorm rolled through the bluegrass early that afternoon. As soon as it cleared up, B was ready to go do a little car shopping. His residency is getting ready to come to an end and what better way to celebrate than with a new car?!?! Well... we may not get a new car that soon ;) We're just in the initial stages of looking and pricing... and maybe a lil' test driving. We had a fun afternoon together and it just made us more excited about B's upcoming fellowship and all the exciting things ahead. I'm beyond blessed for all these opportunities! We enjoyed a fun dinner at our fav Mexican restaurant that night.

Sunday was such a GORGEOUS day!! Oh my goodness... 83 degrees and sunny. B took advantage of this weather by getting his bike out and going for a long ride. I, however, did not participate in this activity. Instead, I lounged outside, soaked up some sun ,and started reading a new book :) When B returned, we fixed lunch and gave my car a much needed bath... it's been way too long! The rest of the day consisted of catching the last couple of hours of the Master's, having a random power outage, and getting the grill fired up again.

All in all... a great weekend! Happy Monday y'all!

Awesome Vacay!

The hubs and I had an AWESOME time on our anniversary trip!

We loved the city of Charlotte and everything it had to offer. Great weather, yummy food, incredible shopping, and a wonderful way to celebrate two years of marriage.

We left early Saturday morning...

I love my hubby!

Clearly I was getting a lil' bored on the drive!

The drive actually wasn't too bad...a stop at Chick Fil A for breakfast and 6 hours later we were all checked in and ready to hit the town. I got my UK gear on, so I could cheer on my CATS (I was pretty upset when they lost by 1 point!!...we'll get 'em next year). We grabbed a great dinner at Mac's Speedshop BBQ. It was quite delish! Afterwards we headed to Thomas Street Tavern to grab a couple drinks and watch the game. Fun Fun Fun night!

Sunday morning we started our day by driving around a bit and checked out some of the neighborhoods..I'm in love with Dilworth! So beautiful. We stumbled upon Freedom Park and decided to take a lil' stroll. It was gorgeous outside.

We then headed to SouthPark Mall....ummmm hello?!?! This place is amazing!

After a long day of shopping we grabbed a late dinner at Big Daddy's Burger Bar. I have no idea what they put in their burger but B and I cleaned our plates...and quickly! It was so so so yummy.

On our anniversary , we went and cycled the Little Sugar Creek Greenway. It travels all the way to Uptown. Beautiful scenery along the way.

After grabbing lunch at The Roasting Company we headed to take a lil' walk through the botanical gardens. It was so nice outside...we were blessed to have such great weather while we were there!

For our anniversary dinner we headed Uptown and tried out Frankie's 710. Another great meal :)

B decided he really wanted to check out the Discovery Place, on Tuesday. So we headed that direction and I'm so glad we went. It is aimed at kids but it is such a neat place! So many cool exhibits and hands on experiments.

After our morning of learning we just walked around downtown and soaked in the sun and beautiful view.

Our last dinner was at Rooster's...if anyone is visiting Charlotte you MUST go grab a bite here! It is wonderful! Probably our best meal.

Thanks so much to my blog buddy, Growing Up Blonde, for all of her great recs.

B and I had a blast on our lil' getaway but I must say...it's great being home and being back with our pups!

We're already planning our anniversary trip for next year...another day, another post ;)

Happy Friday ladies!
