It's Back!

Y'all... the season premiere for "Glee" is TONIGHT!!

I am super pumped!!

Last season wasn't my favorite. There were definitely a few episodes that I could have done without but overall, it's a great show full of lots of talent. I can't wait to see what this season has in store.

I've posted some of my favorite songs from past seasons. You may notice that the majority of the songs come from Chris Colfer (aka Kurt). I absolutely love him and could listen to him sing ALL day!

Monday Monday Monday

Happy Monday ladies!

This past weekend was a lil' crazy. B spent the majority of the time working at the hospital but we were able to sneak in a night out... of course ;)

But... to my surprise...

B was done super early at work this morning and tomorrow he has a "research day" so I get to spend some time him! It was pretty nice to have a breakfast out this morning and spend the day together :)

Over the next few days this gal is busy, busy, busy. Lots of work to do! I'm headed home to KY Thursday morning and while I get to see family and friends, I'm really going for work. I'm looking forward to working with some of my favorite kiddos and choreographing a few new pieces. It will be nice to be home for a bit... and nice to have some of my mom's home cookin'!!

Hope y'all had a great weekend and an even better Monday!

Sometimes, Change is Good

This past week has been a whirlwind. B and I are really starting to get excited about what lies ahead for us. We knew that we were coming to Connecticut for B's one year fellowship and everything after would take shape with God's timing.

Well... things are starting to take shape! It's an interesting time full of excitement, joy, wonder, and anxiety. I'm a planner. I'm the type of person that has a huge calendar that is color coded with mine and my hubby's schedules and appointments, due dates for bills, and important celebrations. I have a weekly planner that is just as colorful as well as a daily "to do" that is always clipped inside. Obsessed much?!?! Yes.. yes, I am. I like the sense of accomplishment that I get when I mark something off my list. Sometimes I'll do a chore that wasn't on the list and I'll add it anyways and then put a check mark next to it! Sad but true and I know I can't be the only strange person that does this ;)

Anyways... B is starting to get interviews lined up and job offers are in the beginning stages. I'm so proud of my husband and all of his hard work. He is so dedicated and I have not met someone who is so passionate about his job. He truly wants to help others and make a difference. Any hospital or practice would be so blessed to have him.

Throughout this process of talking about places we would like to live, we have discussed our "5 year plan". I always laugh when I say this because let's get real, we can make a plan but we have no idea where life is going to lead us or what God has in store for us. Two years ago, I never would have thought that we would be in Connecticut and that B would be studying and working with some of the best physicians in the country. It's amazing how God works and I'm glad that He is in charge because who knows where we would be if it was left up to me and B! We know that we'd like the next move to be a semi-permanent. We'd like to settle down in the next 5 years. We'd like to start talking about starting a family in 5 years. We want to travel. During the next 5 years, we'd like to buy a house. We want to be debt free. We want to build our savings. There's a lot we want to accomplish.

It's overwhelming how quickly time flies by and how quickly the next 5 years will speed by us. It has made me think back and reflect on the last 5 years of my life. So much has changed. At this time, 5 years ago, I was 21. That seems so long ago but yet not that long at all. Does that even make sense?!?! I've lost friends and made new ones. I've dated and been single. I've had different jobs. My family has been through up's and down's. I've lost my favorite grandmother. I've met Brian. I've gotten married. I've had disappointments and I've repaired broken relationships. I taught others and others have taught me.

Point is... my life has changed. I've changed. The only thing that has been a constant in my life is God. I have not always made the best choices. I've made mistakes. Who am I kidding??? I make mistakes everyday. I am guilty of gossiping or getting too caught up in material things or spending too much time making my own plans instead of following to what God has planned for me. But I've changed. In the last 5 years I have grown more confident as a Christian and more confident as a young woman. I have changed from a college girl to a married woman with new priorities and new goals. I handle situations differently today than I did a few years ago. I have changed and I'm still changing.

B and I are constantly changing within our marriage. We have a stronger bond and friendship now than we did when we were married 2 1/2 years ago. We have a more Christ centered relationship than we did the day we were married. And this is all good. To me, that is what marriage is. Growing and learning. We certainly have our differences. I can be uptight and stubborn and sometimes he doesn't listen but at the end of that day we're best friends and we're in this together.

I've learned over the past 5 years to go with the flow and to trust God. He knows what's best. I'm constantly trying to learn more and work on being a better wife, daughter, sister, friend, and person.

I've changed. I've embraced it. I feel so overwhelmed with this beautiful life that the Lord has blessed us with. And I'm so looking forward to the changes that the Lord has in store for me and B.

Sometimes, change is good :)

TGIF

Happy Friday!

I am so happy that the weekend is here. B actually has to work this weekend but I'm looking forward to grabbing a good book, some yummy coffee or hot chocolate and enjoying some down time.

I found myself perusing Pinterest earlier... here's some fun pics I came across:

I think this is such a great idea and so cute!

I can't wait to travel here!

Over the past couple of years, I have found myself to be quite handy in the kitchen... I would spend all my time cooking if I had a kitchen like this! So beautiful.

Great advice.

One of my favorite verses :)

Our windows have been cracked all day and it has been so wonderful to feel the crisp air... fall is here! I absolutely love fall. It is one of my favorite times of year :)

Have a wonderful weekend ladies!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!!
It is a beautiful, warm day here in Connecticut and I'm looking forward to spending some time in the sunshine this afternoon :)

Here's what I'm loving today:

I'm loving that my mom has ordered this new book/CD of an interview with Jackie Kennedy. She surprised me last week and told me she ordered it and it should be delivered in the next couple of days... I can not wait to listen!

I absolutely love learning about Jackie Kennedy! No matter what your political affiliation is, you just can't deny her impact on American women. I first started reading about Mrs. JFK when I was in the 4th grade. We had an assignment where we had to dress up and give a speech as if we were that person in history. I had Jackie O and that's when I became so intrigued by this woman. Her style, her grace, her passion for the arts,... she was so beautiful and so elegant. She is inspiring!

I LOVE her!!

There was a special on ABC last night that Diane Sawyer hosted. It was incredible... go here and check it out! There are two parts. If you don't love her already, you will fall in love with her after hearing her words about her life, her husband, her children... I could keep going, haha!

Anyways...

As always, I'm loving my sweet, sweet hubby! He is really loving his fellowship and (I know I say this almost every week) but I'm just so proud of him and so inspired by his hard work and dedication!

Have a wonderful day ladies!

Is This for Real?

I about died when I saw a commercial for this new product by "Oreo":

Ladies and gentlemen, I bring you the "Triple- Double Oreo"... that's right... a regular Oreo is no longer good enough for the average American. Now we need three cookies and two layers of icing to satisfy our cookie craving. I had to Google this to make sure I heard the commercial correctly!

Can you believe this?!?! I find this completely NUTS! Now don't get me wrong. I love a good cookie or a scoop of ice cream just like the next person but an entire bag of "Triple- Double Oreo's"? So crazy!

Whatever happened to just a good ol' "Oreo" with a glass of milk? These new suckers pack on an extra 50 calories and more saturated fat than the originals.

I'm not gonna lie... this kind of disgusts me. {I hope I have not offended anyone... I apologize if you have gone out and bought these!} It just leaves me wondering... is this what America has come to? We live in a society where everything is "super-sized" and we are told that, when it comes to food, "bigger is better". Sweets are good... I'm thinking of grabbing of some Fro-Yo tonight actually ;) But... it's all about moderation and controlling what you eat. We are responsible for our own actions and it's my own fault if I gain a few extra pounds from too many calories or not enough exercise but wouldn't it be much easier if products like these weren't produced?

What do y'all think?

Friday Ramblings

First of all... Happy Friday! This four day week has totally thrown me off but has gone by so quickly! The hubs and I started our weekend a little early last night. We headed around the corner with some friends and watched the NFL Kickoff game. Great game to start off the season! I found myself so excited that football was back. It means fall is here! Tailgating, good food, and good friends :) We had a great time last night!

I am already getting anxious about some new arrivals that will headed by way soon!

The other night I ordered two new scents for my Scentsy. Check out their website here. They have some great stuff and I'm so happy about my new fall scents. I just love the smells of fall and winter! I ordered "Pumpkin Roll" and "Autumn Sunset".

If you haven't checked out Marley Lilly recently, do so immediately! They have some of the cutest monogrammed items :) I currently have several of their items on my wish list and they have a ton of gift ideas.

I love this cute towel wrap!

They have a bunch of super cute and fun cell phone covers. You can also request to have an added "pocket" on the back. Then when you're headed out for a night on the town you just stick you credit card and ID inside and you're good to go! Doesn't change the look too much either. Cute and practical... I think I need this haha!

I'm always looking for a fun scarf/pashmina. They have lots of colors to choose from!

I'm loving this sweatshirt pullover too. I'm thinking I need a navy one for all the Yale football games ;)

I'm really looking forward to spending some time with my hubby this weekend. He has had a busy week and he's on call next weekend so we're trying to fit in some "quality time" with each other. The weather is supposed to be beautiful this weekend so I'm thinking a trip to the beach might be in order ;) And maybe Sunday afternoon will call for some pool time as well. I'm trying to soak up as much sun as possible before the cool weather is in full force up here. I know some of our time will be spent watching season 4 of Mad Men. If you have not seen an episode please go watch the first one NOW! Great show... but you have to watch it in order from the very beginning or you will be completely lost... trust me... I have made this mistake! It's so well written and the actors are awesome! I'm obsessed with Betty Draper's closet!

Have a fun and restful weekend ladies!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

This week is flying by y'all! I can't believe that it's already Wednesday ;)

Here's some things that I'm loving today:

I'm loving that today is a cool, crisp, rainy day. I've had the windows open all day and the breeze flowing. It has been perfection!

I'm loving these dresses from Anthropologie. I don't think I'll ever get tired of that store!

I'm loving some of my Pinterest finds. Why do I love this website SO much?!?! Is it bad that I've also downloaded their iPhone app too? haha

And as always I'm loving my sweet, sweet hubby :) I just love this man!!

Have a happy Wednesday ladies!
