Gotta Get Down on Friday

Yay Yay Yay for Friday! I hope y'all are having a great day so far :) I had an awesome surprise this morning... at 8:30, I got a text from the hubby saying he was done for a bit. They overstaffed his rotation and he got to leave. He has to go back and work a late shift tonight but it is nice having him home during the day. Good way to start off the weekend!

We've been working on my Halloween costume this morning. Here's a hint:

There's still some work that needs to be done but I'm thinking it will all come together pretty quickly. Just need to make a quick trip for some rhinestones and glue!

Oh... and I need to mention that snow is in our forecast for tomorrow. Can you believe it?!?! It's still October!! Some areas are expected to get between 5-8 inches. I don't think we'll get that where we are but... SNOW! It's a little early. No worries though... won't stop us from our Halloween party ;)

I'll leave y'all with a song that has been on my playlist this week. I just love it!

Have a great weekend!

A few projects...

Hey ladies!

This week as been super busy... I feel like my "to do" list has just been growing more everyday. But that's okay. I'd rather be busy ;)

The first project that will be taking up my time the next couple of days is preparing mine and B's Halloween costume. I haven't been to a Halloween party in I don't know how long so it will be fun to get out with some friends and get all dressed up. I love my idea that I came up with for me and the hubs but it's top secret until our big reveal Saturday night. Pics to come though, for sure!

My other big project is at our apartment. I think I've blogged before that our space is much smaller than what we're used to. Don't get me wrong. We LOVE our apartment! Great location, great space, but... super small closets. We originally tried to organized our stuff back in August after we were all settled in but it is just not practical. Never fear... this gal will have it all taken care of ;) I've been researching all kinds of organizing ideas and of course browsing Pinterest for some inspiration.

We only have two closets and they are small! It's been hard fitting in clothes, shoes, coats, puppy stuff, scarves, extra towels, bike stuff, etc,...
I'm looking forward to taming everything and having some order.

Oh and before I leave y'all...

Here is a link to Sephora's Friends and Family sale. Just enter your email address and receive your special code for 20% off you entire purchase! I know of a few items that are on my list. But hurry... sale ends on November 2.

Have a great day!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Happy Wednesday y'all!!

Here's what I'm loving today:

I'm loving my devotionals that I read each day but I especially look forward to my Monday mornings when I get to read this one. Sorry for the grainy pic... not sure what happened but you get the point ;) This is a weekly devotional and I love, love, love the message that it teaches. It's specifically geared towards wives and how we can continue to be a positive example to our husbands and our families. Check it out! Here is a link to Amazon for ya!

I'm loving our new bookshelf that we got last week. We have been keeping our books in a few stacks tucked away in the corner so it was finally time to give them a proper home. We have been very spoiled having an Ikea a couple blocks away from us! And thank you to my hubby for putting this together ;)

I'm loving that my hubby and I actually purchased the complete box set of Dawson's Creek. That's right... we are the proud owners of every episode of Dawson and the gang. We had been joking about starting to collect the series but when we saw the full series for $40 at Target, we knew it was meant to be! We're on Season 2 and loving it!

And as always, I'm loving my sweet, sweet hubby! He is just the absolute best and I couldn't be more prouder to be his wife :)

Hope everyone had a great day!

A Lil' Bit of Heaven in a Jar

Where has this been my whole life and why have I waited so long to get it?

This stuff is AMAZING!

I received a sample of C.O. Bigelow's Acai Night Cream a few months ago and really liked it but for some reason just kept putting off committing to my purchase. That tends to happen with me. I'll find a product that I really like but I hold off making the full commitment. I have to make sure that it's just right and I have to make sure that my life just can't go on without it. It's kind of like dating haha ;)
This stuff is a dream. I finish my nighttime routine with this cream and it is heavenly! I've been using it for a week now and I can already see and feel a difference in my skin. Ladies...this is a must try. I understand if you can't commit to a full blown relationship with it but at least give it a date or two ;)

Since we're here, can I just share with you the cutest pic of one of my pups? Yesterday was a rainy, yucky day here in CT so we were confined to the apt for the entire day. Literally...it rained ALL day! Our poor pups were dreaming of getting outside...really. Please look at sweet Carson:

Isn't he adorable? He was like this most of the morning. I love that he has his paw up on the window sill haha! I just love that silly, little boy.

Well, I'm outta here...I've gotta take advantage of this day off that my hubby has :)

Have a great day ladies!!

It's About Time!

It's official... I'm a member of Pinterest!

I know, I know. I'm late to hop on the bandwagon. I've been wasting enough time on this website and oogling over countless pics so I figured I might as well accept the invite that was sent my way.

Here's some things that grabbed my attention today :

I love, love, love this top! The ruffles on the shoulders are too sweet.

Something I try to constantly remind myself...

Adorbs :)

I'm just so in love with NYC... this pic of Central Park is beautiful!

I'm not too crafty but I'm thinking I may need to give this a try...

An apple sandwich with peanut butter, granola, and chocolate chips... yum!

Someone please tell me where I can find these shoes! I am in LOVE!

I'm always looking for a new sweet treat. Mini smores anyone?

I really like the gray and white stripes and the pop of pink...

Love the layers of bracelets...

If you have not been to this website, please go visit right now!
Have a great evening ladies

It's All About Me...

Wait... no it's not!

Have you ever had a relationship with someone who constantly turns things back around to make it all about them? Or brags about all the "new" things they just bought? Or about how wonderful they are? Or name drop?

It's just constant "me, me,me"!

Now, I think we can all admit that at times we can be guilty of doing this but there are some people who do it ALL THE TIME. B and I are currently dealing with a person like this. I won't lie... this type of behavior was annoying at first but I've decided to turn it around and take it as a lesson for myself. I'm learning how I don't want to be and trying to be an influence on this "said person". It is difficult and frustrating but I'm really hoping and praying that mine and B's beliefs, values, and actions will rub off.

We can all be selfish, we can all be boastful, but I truly feel that B and I are grateful, faithful, and try to always make others feel welcome and loved.

I'm not sure if any of this is making sense.
The Lord teaches us to love one another and forgive sins and this lesson is being taught to me right now! I'm working on letting things go and staying patient and trying to use myself as an example to teach others. I honestly hope I never come across as a "me, me, me" person because, at the end of the day, it's not all about me!

This verse really spoke to me when I read it:

Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.
~Philippians 2:3~

My prayers recently have revolved around wanting God to keep B and I in check about making sure the decisions we make, the words that we choose, and the things we do are all "motive free" and selfless.

Easier said than done ;)

Have a Happy Monday ladies!

I Couldn't Have Said It Better...

Anyone that knows me, knows that I LOVE reading! B and I have piles of books laying around and I'm pretty sure 97% of them belong to me ;)

There is just nothing better than getting caught up in a good book!

{I took these pics in Charlotte, NC. Several of these quotes line the entrance to the public library...I was fascinated!}

Happy Reading!

What I'm Loving Wednesday

Happy Wednesday!!
Here are some things that I'm loving on this beautiful, fall day:

I'm loving that it is already October! The past few months have flown by. B and I had a crazy, busy summer so I am more than happy that things have finally slowed down a bit and we can really enjoy this time of year. Lots to be thankful for and lots to look forward to this fall!

I'm loving the pile of books that is sitting next to the bed just begging to be read. Is there anything better than to grab a good book, a cup of coffee or hot chocolate, crack open a window, and snuggle up on the couch? I think I just planned what I'm going to do this afternoon ;)

I'm loving this new website that I stumbled upon. What Should I Read Next? I'm constantly searching for my next book and this website is great. Just type in an author or book title that you like and within seconds hundreds of recommendations are in front of you!

I'm loving what I've found on Pinterest this week...

And, as always, I'm loving my sweet, sweet hubby! He really is my best friend and I can not find enough words to express how grateful I am to be married to him :)

And last but not least... I have to give a BIG shout out and CONGRATS to one of my dear, dear students, Carolyn!!!! She has been accepted into one of the top dance conservatories and arts university in the country. I am beyond proud of her and her dedication :) Big things are ahead for this young lady. Yay! So happy for you girl! You deserve it... love you lots!

Have a great Wednesday y'all!
