Being A Biblical Wife in a Modern World

The Power of Prayer

Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.
~ Mark 11:24 ~

Being a Biblical wife comes with some pretty awesome advantages and responsibilities. My hubby and I have not been married long but I learned early on that prayer is an important aspect of marriage. We pray together daily and seek His Word together but it is during my time alone with God that I look forward to the most. This is my time to bring everything to God and to pray for my husband.

As a wife, prayer is one of the most important things that we can do for our hubby's. This is not only a necessary responsibility but a privilege. God wants us to seek Him. He wants us to come to Him with our desires, our praises, our wants, our struggles and prayer is an amazing way to humbly connect with God. Through prayer we are lifting up our hubby and the results are positive for him, us, and our marriages.

It is so important to let the Lord lead your marriage. That is my number one prayer when it comes to praying for my hubby and our marriage! I pray that we always remember who is in charge and that we continue to choose to leave our marriage to His care.

Prayer is such an intimate way to connect with God and to deepen our relationships with Him. By having a strong prayer based relationship with the Lord, our relationship with our hubby's can only continue to grow and thrive. Praying for your hubby may not always be easy but it should always be a priority. Think about the role that you desire your hubby to fulfill. Being a leader, being strong in his faith, being a hard worker, etc,... these are all important things to pray about for your hubby.

And ladies, your hubby's should be lifting you up through prayer too! It is a wonderful, overwhelming feeling that I know I have someone I can rely on to go to God on my behalf. It is amazingly awesome to pray together but it is also so awesome to have that one on one time with God.

There are some great tools out there to help start you on your journey to pray for your husband.

This is a link to "Revive our Hearts". It is a 31 day prayer guide to pray for your hubby.

This is an amazing book! I still refer to it from time to time and it has some wonderful devotions and prayers.

Being a wife is an experience like no other but nothing beats being able to go to God and just lay it all out there and humble yourself, your hubby, and your marriage before Him.

Have a wonderful week ladies and remember... nothing is as strong as the power of prayer!

  1. I love the prayer book that goes with the Power of a Praying wife. I haven't read that book, but have the prayers. Love it! Really helps me specifically pray for my husband in positive ways instead of "please help my husband do this for me" or something selfish.
