Weekend Update!

Hey y'all and Happy Monday! Hopefully there is sunshine and beautiful weather where you are because it is nothing but hot and rainy where I'm at... not the best way to start off the week. 

But I certainly can't complain about my weekend...

I came back to the apartment Thursday night and found this guy sitting on my couch:

My friend Shawn surprised me for a weekend visit and I was so excited! B knew all about it... they had been planning it for about a week. I was shocked that the hubby actually kept a secret from me, haha. It was a fun weekend for sure. We grabbed dinner Thursday night and while B was at work Friday, Shawn and I enjoyed the day together walking around town and catching up. Saturday was absolutely gorgeous so we spent the afternoon in Greenwich. It such a cute town and the shopping ain't too bad either ;) Later that night we headed out to meet a group of our pals at a local bar/tavern. I'm so happy that Shawn was able to meet most of our Connecticut friends and it was so great to see them over the weekend. We only have a couple more weeks together...  boo :( This week is B's last full week of work... so crazy! Anyways... Sunday was a super lazy day with a few errands thrown in.

A successful and fun weekend for sure, especially after having such a busy week last week. I'm just so thankful for great friends and for out year up here in New England.

Weekend Update ( A Day Late... Oops!)

I totally meant to blog yesterday but it just ended up being a crazy busy day so... here's my weekend update... on Tuesday... oops!

Friday was a looooong day but a beautiful day. We have seriously had so much rain over the past few weeks and it is driving this gal a little crazy... I've been missing the sunshine! Anyways, it was gorgeous so a gal pal and I went out on a 5 mile walk (so fit!), I ran a few errands, and then it was time for a little mani/pedi. All this happened after a 3:30 am alarm to take a friend to the airport. My hubby was so sweet and did the driving to and from... he is on call this week so that was a huge sacrifice for him and one that I greatly appreciate :) He is the best!

Saturday morning was another early morning. Well not quite as early as the previous day ;) But we were headed into the city for brunch with my SIL and her friend. She was in town visiting a friend from college so B and I hopped on the train to join them for a yummy meal at "Pastis" and then a lovely afternoon around NYC. It was super gorgeous that day!

Sunday was definitely a day of rest. I know B was exhausted from his work week and two early mornings and he had another long week ahead. Have I mentioned that I am super thankful for what he does?!?! We missed church this past Sunday but it was so nice to catch up on some sleep, have a lazy morning filled with coffee and homemade waffles, an afternoon of reading, cleaning, and catching some rays by the pool. It was so nice to just stay at home :)

And though Mondays are not considered the weekend, I am a day late so I'm including it anyway ;) I picked my friend up back from the airport and drove back into town, we grabbed a quick bite, and quickly got ready to catch the train back into NYC. Why the rush?!?! We had a show to go to! We went to The American Ballet Theatre's Opening Gala and it was AMAZING! It was held at The Met and everything was just stunning... the theatre, the people in attendance, the dancers, and all the pieces. I was so happy my friend Shawn invited me to go! After a hot dog from a street vendor and a slice of cake from Junior's, we were home and completely wiped out. I'm surprised I'm even functioning today because I'm so tired, haha.

Happy Friday!

I have never been more excited to see the weekend! Okay... that may be a tad dramatic but this past week has been a bit crazy so I'm more than ready to celebrate this 3 day weekend :) Between dealing with the water damage in the apartment, our AC going out, and lots of errands and work related craziness... B and I are ready to enjoy some quality time with each other and with friends.

I have to give a quick shout out to a new blog that I discovered this morning. French Mademoiselle. I'm in heaven! I'm currently obsessed with Paris and this blog fulfills all things french and beautiful :) She also has a second blog dedicated to yummy french food! Check her out... lots of pics, furniture, pastries, etc,...

This weekend should be a good one. We're getting our weekend started off by going out with some friends... I'm ready to un-wind with a glass of wine in my hand and lots of laughs. Saturday morning I'm hoping to make it to a free yoga class down the street from us. It's a great, new studio and every other week or so they offer all kinds of free classes. Sunday, B and I decided to throw a lil' impromptu Labor Day shindig at our pool. Should be fun :) I'm just praying the rain holds off... I'm craving some sunshine! I'm happy B will be home on Monday so we can have a lazy day together. What are your Labor Day plans?

Smile, it's Friday!

It's Friday!!!!

I'm so happy the weekend is here... yay :)

My weekend actually started a lil' early. Last night several of the teachers and their families got together for a big cookout and just had a night to relax. SO MUCH FUN!! Recital wore all of us down so it was great to just hang out and not worry about work, students, or costumes ;) We had yummy food and yummy drinks! Have y'all ever had summer beer?!?! I had not... until last night! Thank you Kris for introducing me to a new beverage. I had not even heard of it... not that I'm a big drinker anyways. I'll have the occasional glass of wine when friends are in town or with a meal but other than that, I'm pretty tame. This was yummy yummy yummy... it's beer, vodka, and limeade/ lemonade.

Basically... it was a fun night with fun friends!

Today is a lil' hectic. Lots on the to do list but it's Friday soooo... that makes everything easier.

The hubby only has to work a half day so we'll be spending our afternoon running errands and then heading to his Senior Graduation Banquet tonight. I'm excited to celebrate with B and his fellow residents... they have accomplished so much. Very proud!!
